I’ve always wanted to expand our shop and I just didn’t know what that was going to look like until now! Curating a collection of like minded sustainable brands is really exciting! I love doing the research and testing out the products so you get the best of the best. And adding a pre-loved section just made total sense for me in the circular fashion revolution. I like designing timeless items that can be worn for years… so they stay out of the landfills. I still have pieces my mom wore in the 90’s. 

It’s time to change our mindsets. I know we actively don’t think that ‘I need more cheap crap, so let humanity suffer’. However sadly, that is essentially what happens when we don’t shop consciously. It does put tremendous pressure on us when most of us struggle just to get through our day to day. But it’s up to us to figure this out. Sustainability is the next big revolution. We can’t live the same way much longer if we want a safe planet for our future generations. 

So Areta With Love is a practice what you preach approach. I’m here to do the work, so you can feel confident about being a conscious consumer and help make a change for the better in how we shop. Every little bit makes a huge difference. Let’s show the world we are capable of change! 

Personally, my views have shifted over the last 12 years since having children. That’s when I started learning and researching about organic foods, clothing and the least amount of chemicals possible in my cleaning products etc… Even when money was tight, it was important to me as a mom to make conscious decisions for my everyday and for my kids. When I was growing up in the 80’s, we didn’t have the fast fashion we do now, and I know my mom loved hand me downs and appreciated that both my grandmothers had huge gardens with fresh produce at our disposal. (I loved the sound of carrots being pulled out of the garden:) I want to teach my kids to be mindful and have that connection with the place that you come from and teach them about how things are made!
